"Mme Sand comprises improvisers Ananya Ganesh (b. 1997) and Domenic Hutchins (b. 1991), an exciting new four-hands piano duo that is active in Canada and the U.S. Embracing its own marginality, their music partially takes up the sonic psychogeography of Morton Feldman’s multi-piano works, yet is noticeably subtended by jazz and blues. The music bears the notable marks of Kyle Gann's multi-piano works as well as the recent resurgence of Terry Jennings's very early exploration of the nexus of Indian music, modal jazz and new music. In 2023, Mme Sand’s music was selected by Berlin-based curator Juliette Henrioud to be played on the Mallorcan channel Nits de la Tramuntana. Mme Sand—the punning 'Mah’Dom Sound'—specifically toasts actress for all seasons Judy Davis’ fully-realized portrayal of Sand. Ananya Ganesh has toured North America and India with Amirtha Kidambi, their performances focusing on vocal and piano improvisation."
